剧情简介：

Synopsis:
The story happened in Tel Aviv, Israel, during its last stage of trusteeship. A large number of Jews immigrated from all over the world living in the Chelouche Street. Sammy, a 15-year-old Israeli boy of Egyptian descent, is the firstborn child of a widow (played by Gila Almagor). The family settle in 1947 Tel Aviv. The plot centers on the firstborn, Sammy, his transition from a shy 15 year old to a working man and an activist in the "Haganah" (a resistance movement that acted mainly against the military forces of the British), and the romantic attachment he develops with a 25-year-old Syrian immigrant librarian. The movie is a vivid and very credible description of Egyptian-Jewish families on the eve of the declaration of the state of Israel
The film was the best Oscar foreign language nominee of that year. |
